Speaking of summer, our friends in Screaming for Silence are releasing their latest EP this August entitled House of Glass! You might have seen them featured before in my Runza/Bierocks recipe. Their single "House of Glass" helped inspire this recipe. Listen to it, love it, and buy it here.
Note to self... next time use glass noodles. ^_^
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs. thinly sliced pork cut into strips
2-3 cups frozen stir fry veggies (I used the Broccoli Stir fry mix from Picsweet)
3 cups cooked angel hair pasta
4 tbs. Kikkoman Teriyaki Sauce & Marinade
4 tsp. soy sauce
2 tbs. minced garlic
1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup chicken broth
4 tsp. sesame oil
2 tbs. olive oil
Heat 2 tsp. of sesame oil and 1 tbs. of olive oil in a wok or deep frying pan at medium-high heat. Add 1 tbs. of garlic and stir. Add the pork and stir. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the pork is no longer pink. Add the crushed red pepper flakes, 2 tbs. teriyaki sauce and 2 tsp. soy sauce. Stir to combine.
Add the vegetables and chicken broth to the pan. Stir to combine. Cover and the it cook 5-7 minutes, or until the veggies are brightly colored. Remove the pork and veggies from the pan, strain the juices first and then place in a bowl. Set aside.
Return the pan to medium-high heat. Add the remaining oils and garlic to the pan. Place the noodles in the pan and toss with a spaghetti strainer. Once the noodles are softened from the heat, add the remaining soy and teriyaki sauce. Toss well to coat the noodles evenly. Add the meat and veggies and stir again to combine. Remove from heat and serve.
Makes 4 - 6 servings.
